Call for papers: The Challenges of Parenting and Parenthood
# 32 RCIS: Call for papers: The Challenges of Parenting and Parenthood
Volume 32 (will be published on March 2010) of REVISTA DE CERCETARE SI
INTERVENTIE SOCIALA is focused on parenting and parenthood. In this
issue, we welcome submissions that address the themes below, including
papers on:
- parenthood and parenting in actual public policies;
- parents-children relations;
- fathers’ involvement with children;
- parenthood in vulnerable families;
- teenage motherhood;
- parenting education;
- parenthood in non-traditional families

- Abstracts and expression of interest: September 1, 2010
- Paper submission: November 15, 2010
- Notification of review outcome: January 15, 2011
- Final manuscripts due: February 7, 2011
About the Journal
The REVISTA DE CERCETARE SI INTERVENTIE SOCIALA [Review of Research and
Social Intervention) publishes original papers about the theory,
methods, and research, practice and conferences presentations about the
research in social field. The general goal of RCIS is to present the
best work in and about contemporary society and the phenomenon, in order
to improve the knowledge base and practice of its readers. Because the
field of social reality is diverse, with different intellectual
traditions, approaches to practice, research methods and domains of
application, the papers published in RCIS will reflect this diversity.
REVISTA DE CERCETARE SI INTERVENTIE SOCIALA (ISSN: 1583-3410) is indexed
by ISI Thomson in Social Sciences Citation Index.

Autor: Alina-Andreia AILINCAI Abstract This is a diagnostic research paper and aims to identify the extent to
which Romanians perceive themselves to be optimistic or pessimistic,
rich or poor, in the current socio-economic conditions. People register a
significant decrease in optimism associated with generalized negative
expectations in times of economic crisis. As the economic recession
effect becomes more evident, we are sucked into a vicious circle of
worries, fears, negative expectations, anxiety and frustration. It is
easier to feel positive when everything around us goes well, but in
difficult times, when the economic condition and government measures to
overcome economic crisis are tough, it is easier to get into a state of
negative thinking and self-pity.Â
